Abacus Virtual Classroom ("the App") lets teachers host live online classes and students join them using video, audio, chat, a whiteboard and screen sharing.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used and how it is protected.
We collect and use information only to provide classroom functionality, maintain the service and support users.
The App may collect or process the following information when you use its classroom features:

| Email Address & Password | Used for account authentication through Firebase Authentication. Passwords are handled by Firebase and are not visible to the application developer. |
| Name | The name entered on the login screen is used to identify the participant inside the classroom. |
| Random User ID | A random user ID may be generated on the device to identify the application user. |
| Class Information | Class name, class ID, teacher name, schedule/start time, class status, participant list, role and join requests may be processed. |
| Chat Messages & Files | Messages and files shared through classroom chat may be processed for communication between participants. |
| Whiteboard & Classroom State | Whiteboard drawings, raised hands, timer and stopwatch state may be processed as part of classroom functionality. |
| Audio / Video / Screen | Live audio, video and screen content are streamed for real-time classes and are not stored on the App's servers. |
| Local Preferences | Preferences such as the last-used name and pending invite details may be stored only on the user's device. |
The App does not collect location information, contacts or advertising identifiers and does not display advertisements.
The App requires certain device permissions to provide its live classroom features.
Used for live video communication during online classes.
Used for live voice communication during classroom sessions.
Required when a user shares their screen or records a class.
Used for foreground service notifications when required by the operating system.
Required to connect users to live classroom services.
Used for timer and stopwatch alarms.
Users may choose the "Record Class" option when supported by the application.
Screen content and microphone audio are saved only on the user's own device in the Movies/VirtualClassroom folder. The App does not upload these recordings to its servers.
The person initiating a recording is responsible for informing participants and ensuring that the recording is used lawfully and appropriately.
The App uses third-party services to provide authentication, classroom data storage and real-time communication.
Firebase Authentication and Realtime Database are used for account and classroom-related data.

Information collected through the App is used for the following purposes:
Personal information is not shared for advertising purposes.
Information shared within a classroom may be visible to participants who have joined that classroom.
Users should share classroom links only with the people they intend to invite.
Account information may be retained while the account remains active.
Class-related information may be retained until it is deleted or removed.
Users may request deletion of their information by contacting the developer/support team.
The App uses encrypted connections and services such as Firebase to help protect information.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The App may be used for classes involving children.
Children should use the App under the supervision and consent of a parent, guardian, teacher or educational institution.
The App does not knowingly collect information from children beyond information needed to participate in a classroom, such as an entered name.
Parents or guardians may contact the developer to request removal of information.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the application, services or applicable requirements.
When changes are made, the updated policy will be published with a new "Last Updated" date.
